Family Photo

Well, these probably won't make it on the Christmas card,
but it's not often we have a family photo taken. I try
to get it done at family camp down at Lake Bradley -
always pretty close to this same location. Here's from
this year...and one of Miriam too just for kicks.

A Couple from Orchard Photo Shoot

Well, i can't let Olivia get all the press; We went to the orchards
here in Sherwood to pick cherries with some friends. Picking cherries
on a ladder while watching 3 kids didn't really work out, so it ended
up turning into more of a photo session. Perfect for photography on
a sunny day - lots of open shade and fun scenery.

Soccer Mom

i'm now a mini-van-driving -soccer mom - i've finally arrived.
HA! Olivia has been really looking forward to this day all
summer - she is on her first soccer team with 9 other little
kindergarten girls. They had their first practice last night -
watch out for the Sherwood Ginger Cats!

Official Start of Home School

Today we dove into our kindergarten home school adventure.
Olivia went with me to pick up some school room supplies on Sunday -
like a bulletin board, white board, more crayons, and posters. I'm starting
early for a couple of reasons: mainly i want to be on a slightly different
schedule as other people using My Father's World so I don't have to compete
with reserving books from the library; I'm also just too excited to wait
until after Labor Day. What can i say - it's my first year so i can justify
being overly enthusiastic.

There is a plethora of information about home school classrooms on the
Internet...mostly people say not to have an official school room because
you just end up not using it. I realize that might be true, but we are going
to start out in our bonus room because I like being able to leave projects
out, and I don't like seeing all the clutter in the rest of the house.

the only closet in the house that is newly organized. Phuong installed 2 shelves to store the HS supplies - YAY!!!

Olivia's Ballet Performance

Right after preschool graduation was olivia's ballet performance -
this was QUITE an event with practices almost every night, dress
rehearsals and two performances on Sat. Her entire ballet school
participated so she was able to watch "real" ballerinas rehearse
and perform. It was a really wonderful experience for her. She
was a hedgehog in Alice in Wonderland. I helped backstage for a
few of the rehearsals and one of the performances - they did not
allow photos during the performances, so i just took these quickly
while in the dressing room.
