Ballet preview

Olivia and Kailey have been taking ballet together for the past year - Today was RECITAL DAY...I think Olivia's favorite part is putting on the make-up. She especially loved her sparkley blue eye shadow. So fun - the girls did a great job with their parts too.

Olivia's Preschool went to the farm to celebrate the last day of the year. Drew got to go too, and was supervised by Grammpa - I didn't want to have to chase around after him. Olivia loved riding the horses and really enjoyed the whole farm experience.

Our Fishing Expedition

A couple weeks ago Phuong and I took our suburbia kids fishing to a farm that stocked rainbow trout. To my complete shock and amazement Olivia turned out to be a real fisher-girl. My sweet little girlie- girl caught 4 of our 7 fish, reeling 'em in and putting them in the bucket. Daddy's job was to sacrifice the worms and take out the hook. My job was to take photos and be a cheerleader, and Drew's job was mostly to throw fish food in the pond. I was so impressed with how well the kids did; they were so proud of their catch and even enjoyed eating them for dinner.

Bed Rest Day #6

In my quest to try some new photo editing ideas, I tried to take a few new shots of my sweet daughter Olivia to refresh my photo supply. yesterday when I asked her to pose on the couch for me she said, " sure mommy" and happily smiled while i took 4 pictures. Then she said, "ok mommy, that's enough" and ran away. Today when I asked she just lay her head down on the floor and with her most miserable voice said, "no -- more -- pictures." So, i'm left wondering what happened to my little model (see previous post). i think we need another intervention.

thankfully, my dear friend sara and baby lauren came to visit this afternoon - she helped get the kids dinner, get them in the shower, and put them in their jammies. it wasn't easy today either because poor baby drew wasn't having one of his more calmer days. let's just say he got about 6 time-outs in about 2 hours. poor little guy...so much energy, so little furniture to jump from.

Oh - and will someone tell me how to add titles to my individual pictures and also move around the pictures once i've uploaded them. I feel silly for asking this, but i can't figure it out. Sigh...i hate it when that happens.

Blog Catch up

Last weekend Phuong and Drew built a bird feeder for the Sunday afternoon activity. Drew was in his element and refused to do anything else but help Daddy with the hammer and glue.
Here are a couple pics of that little episode. I'm sitting her on "bedrest" so hopefully I'll be able to post more often.

My Brother and his sweet family visit from NH

My brother and his wife Laura and their two sweet little girls visited us for a week...We had a really great time with them...Their little girls were so fun - Olivia and Drew really enjoyed getting to know them better. Here are just a couple pics

I finally found a trick to get Olivia to do a photo shoot...Inspiration off the internet. We visited all my favorite photographers sites and then went outside to see if we could replicate some poses. Olivia was quite a good sport. Usually she will only actually pose for Mindy, so i was pleased. Here are a few of my favorites from today.
