Champoeg Park

We are learning about leaves, trees and rivers right now in both
Olivia and Drew's science curricula. A couple weeks ago we planned
a very spontaneous field trip down to Champoeg Park to study the
sights. Alice, Austin, Kara and Zach met us there with some healthy
happy meals and we colored, examined, listened, picked leaves,
laughed and sang together for a couple of hours. This adventure
made me feel very thankful to be homeschooling this year and to
have wonderful friends to learn with. This was the sort of field trip
that makes you feel like it is all very, very worth it.

What a blast we had! It soooo blessed my heart that the kiddos wanted to stop in the midst of our nature walk, sit on a bench- looking out to a pretty river view, and collectively started singing couple of hymns together! Boy, did they belt out some joyful noise unto the Lord! THAT's what it's all about! I'm so thankful to have shared it with some of our favorite friends. Thanks for the BEAUTIFUL photos! Love you!

There are many moments like that, when you just know homeschooling is absolutely the best for your family. They help carry you through the times when you're wondering why on earth you're doing this!
